The San Francisco 49ers were able to secure their second win last week thanks in large part to the play of new starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Though he failed to find the end zone, he completed over 70% of his passes en route to a comeback victory against the Bears. This week's matchup is much more friendly, as he gets to face a Houston Texans defense that gives up more DraftKings points to quarterbacks than any other team in the league.

Though it's only his second start, Garoppolo's history in New England has shown him to be a level-headed quarterback who makes smart decisions. His career passer rating of 102.4 ranks third all time for players that have thrown at least 100 passes. Yeah, that's cherry picking stats. But, hey, you have to draw a cutoff line somewhere.

A salary of $5,500 is slightly higher than many may have anticipated, but it's both fair (given the matchup) and still in value territory. The 49ers' implied total of 20.5 points doesn't exactly scream shootout, but it shouldn't be low enough to have you looking elsewhere for value, especially given that Houston has allowed opposing passers to score at least 18 fantasy points on them in five of their past six games. Garoppolo should have a solid floor this week, and he is very worthy of consideration as a cash-game play.
