Kendall Wright Is the Wide Receiver to Own in Chicago

Kendall Wright certainly walked along a rocky road in his career, but Wright has found himself with a significant role for 2017.

In the wake of the injuries to Cameron Meredith and Kevin White, Wright has been thrust into the Chicago Bears' primary receiving role. His 11 passing targets led the team in Week 2, but more importantly, his four red zone targets tied him with Emmanuel Sanders for the most red zone targets of the week.

The passing volume is there for Wright, and he is a part of the team's red zone plans. It's easy to overlook Wright's performance for fantasy purposes because he didn't score a touchdown, but we would be looking at him in a completely different light if he had translated any of those red zone targets into scores.

In fantasy, we aren't necessarily drawn to end result of a touchdown, rather we're interested in the process of red zone looks since those can be a more accurate predictor of future scores. Wright's touchdown opportunity was right there with the best of them this week.

If Wright's target volume inside and outside of the red zone remains stable, he'll be a viable fantasy asset. He's a buy-low right now (if he isn't still on waivers) because the breaks didn't go his way in Week 2.
