College Football Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 9/26/15

There is value to be had at the quarterback position in Week 3. Will you take advantage?

It's that time of the week again!

No, it's not NFL Sunday or Monday Night -- college football Saturday is upon us.

And with that comes another jam-packed day of daily fantasy college football action. I can tell you from experience, if you play daily fantasy one a college football Saturday it's pretty much a win-win. Even if you don't win any money, or if you win just a little, you more than likely got to witness a day's worth of great college football games -- while biting your nails all the while.

But I think we can all agree that we like winning money, so in order for Saturday to be not just a win for your sports fanaticism but also for your bankroll, I'll be using our in-house college football projections to give you some targets for tomorrow's games. Our projections produce team-based statistics based on our algorithms, so this type of approach is logical, as the basic principles of any daily fantasy sport are to target high point projections and teams that are supposed to perform well offensively.

Without further introduction, let's get to the picks.

Top Quarterbacks

Early Slate - Matt Johnson, Bowling Green ($8,600)

There are a lot of worthy gunslingers in tomorrow's early slate of games, but I think Johnson, at his lower price, could match the production of the others. He's thrown for over 400 yards in each of his first three games while tallying 12 touchdowns. This game at Purdue might not be any different. We project the Falcons to pass for 270 yards and the over/under likes them to score upwards of 40 points in this one.

Late Slate - Chad Kelly, Ole Miss ($8,400)

I really don't understand why Kelly's salary hasn't skyrocketed. Over the last two weeks the Rebel quarterback has passed for at least 340 yards and 3 touchdowns while he's rushed for another touchdown in each. He should continue his dominance this week against Vanderbilt. Vegas predicts upwards of 39 points for Ole Miss but we go even further to project 474 total yards, 260 coming via Kelly's arm and the passing game.

Top Running Backs

Early - Aaron Green, TCU ($8,300)

This is the second week in a row I've suggested the Horned Frogs' starting tailback. Last week, he didn't disappoint with 164 yards and 2 touchdowns. He should be in for something similar again this week as TCU and Texas Tech are headed for a shootout with an over/under of 80.5. We expect the Horned Frogs to rush for nearly 220 yards, so Green should get a lot of work.

Late - Dare Ogunbowale, Wisconsin ($6,600)

Corey Clement has been ruled out for the Badgers. However, that doesn't mean we shouldn't target their main backfield threat. Ogunbowale has been splitting carries with Taiwan Deal, but the former has been a lot more effective than the latter. Ogunbowale has accounted for 187 yards and 2 touchdowns in the last two contests. Even with the two splitting carries, the Badgers are heavy favorites against Hawaii, so we project them to rush for over 200 yards. You want in on this action.

Top Wide Receivers

Early - Taywan Taylor, Western Kentucky ($6,100)

Taylor is a steal at $6,100 as he's put up number one receiver numbers the last two weeks for the Hilltoppers. Over the course of the last two games, he's had 14 receptions, 293 yards and 2 touchdowns. Don't look for this matchup to slow him or the WKU offense down. We expect them to air it out in the form of 317 yards while Vegas expects the Hilltoppers to score upwards of 44 points.

Late - Cody Core, Ole Miss ($6,700)

This week I'm looking to pair an Ole Miss receiver with Kelly in the late slate. At his heightened price tag I'm overlooking Laquon Treadwell in favor of Cody Core. He's been uber-consistent so far this season with at least 80 yards and a score in each of his first three games. And as I mentioned above, the Rebels are on track for a big game against a poor Vandy defense.

Top Tight Ends

Early - Tyler Higbee, Western Kentucky ($3,700)

You don't have to stray far from my early wideout pick to find the number one tight end target on the early slate. The Hilltoppers and Brandon Doughty love to hit their big tight end. Higbee has 22 catches, 299 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season. And you already know how this game's supposed to go. Take advantage of the receiver-like production at a tight end price.

Late - Hunter Henry, Arkansas ($3,500)

Generally I don't love paying up for tight ends. I guess this week is a big exception to that though -- and rightfully so. Henry, like Higbee, has a great matchup against an A&M team who will be gunning the ball all over the field Saturday. In order to keep up, Arkansas will likely need Brandon Allen to throw more than usual. With Keon Hatcher and Jared Cornelius sidelined, look for Henry to get a lot of looks in the Hogs' passing game.
