Spurs' Kawhi Leonard may participate in Team USA minicamp
San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard is considering participating in minicamp for Team USA next week, per Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
This would be a chance for Leonard to show other teams how healthy he is after missing most of the 2017-18 season with a quad injury, which could advance trade talks if there are any squads concerned about the injury. This would also be an opportunity for Kawhi to work more with Spurs' head coach Gregg Popovich, which could provide an opportunity for the two to find common ground and might increase the likelihood of Leonard staying in San Antonio.
Kawhi only played 210 minutes last year, bu in the 2016-17 season he averaged a career-high 25.5 points per game on a 54.1% effective field goal percentage while adding 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.7 blocks per game.
