Lakers offered Brandon Ingram in trade with Spurs for Kawhi Leonard

The Los Angeles Lakers offered small forward Brandon Ingram and a future first round draft pick to the San Antonio Spurs for guard/forward Kawhi Leonard, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

What It Means:

Up until recently, Lakers owner Magic Johnson had called Ingram "untouchable", but Leonard's availability definitely changes things. Woj adds that Leonard has previously talked about signing with Los Angeles when he hits free agency in 2019, but the Lakers want to make a better pitch to impending 2018 free agent LeBron James with Leonard already in the fold. The two sides seemingly aren't close, as the Spurs turned down this offer and want "a far more complete haul of Lakers young players and future picks."

Ingram posted 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in the 2017-18 season, while shooting a .497 Effective Field Goal rate -- the 104th-best among 131 qualifying forwards last year. In his most recent full season, Leonard posted a .485 Effective Field Goal rate, with 25.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
