Pacers declining option on Lance Stephenson, making him a free agent
The Indiana Pacers are declining to pick up guard/forward Lance Stephenson's team option worth $4.3 million for the 2018-19 season.
Stephenson will now be a free agent and able to sign with any team that wants him when the league year starts on July 1. The soon-to-be 28-year-old will likely latch on somewhere but not as anything more than a reserve player and likely for less money.
Stephenson averaged 9.2 points, 5.2 boards, and 2.9 assists while shooting just 42.7% from the floor in 2017-18.
