Stevens: Gordon Hayward (ankle) won't return to Celtics this season
Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens reiterated that guard/forward Gordon Hayward will not return this season, reports Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports.
Hayward went down on opening night with a gruesome ankle injury. He underwent surgery that is likely to keep him out the rest of the year. Some reports note that he could return, but it doesn't sound like that's true. He may travel with the team starting in March.
Prior to this season's injury, Hayward had played at least 2,000 minutes in 6 straight seasons with the Utah Jazz.
