Joakim Noah

Report: Knicks looking to get rid of Joakim Noah (personal) following practice conflict

The New York Knicks are "exploring avenues to part with" forward/center Joakim Noah (personal), according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

What It Means:

Per Charania, Noah and Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek shared a "heated verbal exchange" at practice last week which led to this exploration. The problem is that Noah not only turns 33 next month and has played a total of 53 games since the start of last season, but he still has two years remaining on the four-year, $72 million deal he signed in 2016. With virtually no trade value, the Knicks will have to sacrifice a young asset or draft pick if they want to make a deal. Otherwise, they may be forced to cut Noah outright. He's currently away from the team for what has been described as personal reasons.

Noah is averaging 6.1 FanDuel points in seven games this season. Without accounting for a potential trade, numberFire's models project him to record 3.3 points with 3.4 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 12.1 minutes per game over the remainder of the year.
