Thunder's Steven Adams (back) doubtful for Wednesday
Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams (back) is unlikely to play in Wednesday's preseason opener versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Adams did increase his workload at practice on Tuesday, but the Thunder have no reason to risk him aggravating his back injury during a preseason game.
Adams is currently the favorite to start at center for OKC this season, but after compiling averages of just 7.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game as a starter last season, there’s no reason to get too excited about his starter designation. At best, Adams can serve as a shot blocking specialist in deep leagues.
