Cavaliers' Iman Shumpert (knee) to miss two months after surgery

According to The Vertical's Shams Charania, Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Iman Shumpert is expected to be sidelined for two months after undergoing surgery for a small meniscus tear in his left knee on Friday.

What It Means:

Another report suggested that Shumpert would miss 6-to-8 weeks after surgery, but this would land him at the very end of that timetable. The veteran's already missed two straight and five of the last six games with knee issues. Until his return, J.R. Smith, Kyle Korver and Dwyane Wade will continue to serve as the team's primary off-guard options.

Through 13 games and 6 starts, Shumpert has averaged 4.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 20.8 minutes per game so far in 2017.
