Dwyane Wade

Cavaliers' Dwyane Wade (knee) not playing in Wednesday's second half of back-to-back set

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dwyane Wade is out on Wednesday with a left knee contusion, reports The Athletic's Jason Lloyd.

What It Means:

Regardless of the injury, Wade was probably going to sit out the second half of a back-to-back set. He was limited to 18-plus minutes with which he produced 11 points, four assists and three rebounds in his first run off the bench last night. Still, the Cavaliers are facing the Brooklyn Nets this evening, so they probably feel like they can afford to rest the veteran. In his place, J.R. Smith might see additional minutes as Kyle Korver serves as the team's backup shooting guard on Wednesday.

On the season, Wade is averaging just 7.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game. His 16.5 FanDuel points per game haven't been worth his roughly $5,000 salary so far.
