Nets' Spencer Dinwiddie scores 16 in first game absent Jeremy Lin
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie accounted for 16 points, five rebounds and five assists in a 126-121 win over the Orlando Magic on Friday night.
With Jeremy Lin (knee) ruled out for the entirety of the 2017-18 season, there are minutes to go around in the Nets' backcourt. But, while Allen Crabbe got the start alongside D'Angelo Russell, Dinwiddie received more minutes (25) from the bench and was much more productive. He's in line for 20-plus minutes off the bench going forward and could start if he continues to outplay Crabbe.
With an average of 22.1 FanDuel points through 2 games, Dinwiddie is projected for just 10.5 in his next game against the Atlanta Hawks. However, that's with a projection of 4.3 minutes. Dinwiddie is averaging 20.5 so far in 2017.
