Austin Rivers (glute) returns to practice for Clippers

Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers (glute) returned to practice on Sunday.

What It Means:

It was Rivers' first action since October 5 due to a strained right glute, but it sounds like he should be ready for Thursday's season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers. Rivers is expected to start for the Clippers this season, but he will be competing for backcourt minutes with Lou Williams and Milos Teodosic throughout the year.

numberFire's models project Rivers to play 27.5 minutes per game this season while averaging 12.9 points, 1.8 3-pointers, 2.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.7 steals on 42.6 percent shooting from the field and 38.0 percent from long range.
