Clippers' Blake Griffin says toe not an issue during preseason

Los Angeles Clippers forward/center Blake Griffin said he had no issues during the preseason with the right toe that he had surgery on in May.

What It Means:

“I haven’t had any problems,” Griffin said. “I haven’t sat out any practices. I haven’t had any restrictions. I didn’t really anticipate that. At the beginning of the season, I met with probably four of the top foot surgeons in the United States and I never anticipated sitting out training camp.” With Chris Paul no longer in Los Angeles, Griffin is poised for a larger role in the Clippers' offense for the 2017-18 campaign. He appears ready to handle it after averaging 17.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.0 triples in just 23.5 minutes per game during the preseason.

numberFire's models project Griffin to average 23.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.6 blocks, and 0.7 3-pointers per game this year.
