DeMarre Carroll

Toronto trades DeMarre Carroll to Brooklyn

The Toronto Raptors traded forward DeMarre Carroll, a future first-round and second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for center Justin Hamilton, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.

What It Means:

A disappointment for Toronto since signing a four-year/$58 million in 2015, the Raptors paid the Nets with picks to take the remaining $30 million and two years they had committed to Carroll off their books. The move opens up playing time for Norman Powell on the wing. Carroll will likely see limited playing time as the Nets' continue their rebuild.

Carroll averaged 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game last season while posting a -0.1 nERD rating, ranking 180th out of the 486 players to log time in the NBA in 2016-17.
