Kevin Durant agrees to two-year deal with Warriors
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Warriors on a two-year deal worth $53 million.
Eligible for a max contract, Durant opted to take a pay cut and leave nearly $8 million per year on the table to re-sign with the defending champions. His generosity helped the Warriors re-sign Andre Igouldola and hand Stephen Curry the richest contract in sports history. The deal with Golden State contains a player option for the second year, meaning Durant could opt again next summer.
Durant averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game last season while posting a 17.6 nERD rating, the fourth highest of all 486 NBA players.
