James Harden to play shooting guard
Houston Rockets guard James Harden will play shooting guard "for a large part of the game," according to a recent interview with head coach Mike D'Antoni.
After acquiring Chris Paul yesterday, the Rockets will have two players more than capable of manning the point. However, it appears that Paul will slot in at point guard the most while Harden does his play-making from the off-guard position. Although, we should expect Paul to do a lot off-the-ball as well this season.
According to Basketball Reference's play-by-play estimates, Harden played shooting guard for just 1% of his minutes in 2016-17. The year prior, Harden served as the team's shooting guard for 77% of his minutes.
