Thunder's Russell Westbrook named league MVP
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was named the NBA MVP for the 2016-17 season.
Westbrook averaged a triple-double for the season and he broke Oscar Robertson's record with 42 triple-doubles. He also lead the league in scoring, making him the easy winner over James Harden, who came in second place in the voting. Westbrook collected 69 of the 100 first place votes.
Westbrook's averaged 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, 10.4 assists, and 1.6 steals over 34.6 minutes per game. He had a .476 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 15.1 ranked him eighth among all players in his MVP season.
