Chicago selects Lauri Markkanen with the seventh pick in the draft
The Chicago Bulls have drafted Arizona Wildcats forward Lauri Markkanen with the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
The Bulls received the seventh pick in the Jimmy Butler trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. His selection likely signals the end of Nikola Mirotic's Bulls' career as he has a similar game to Markkanen but is six years older and a restricted free agent this summer.
Markkanen provides an instant upgrade to the Bulls three-point shooting as he shot 42.3% from beyond the arc at Arizona while the Bulls ranked 28th in the NBA with just 7.6 three-pointers per game.
