Thunder's Enes Kanter is being detained in a Romanian airport

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Enes Kanter is being detained in Romania after his passport was "canceled" by the Turkish embassy on Saturday morning.

What It Means:

ESPN is reporting that the Thunder and league officials are working on gathering information about the situation, but Kanter went to Twitter explaining in a video that he was being held in Budapest. Kanter is an outspoken critic of Turkish president Recep Erdogan, saying "the reason behind it is just, of course, my political views and the guy who did it is Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey. He's a bad, bad man. He is a dictator, and he's the Hitler of our century."

Kanter averaged 14.3 points and 6.7 rebounds over 21.3 minutes per game this past season. He owned a .549 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 5.9 ranked 33rd in the league last season.
