Clippers and Celtics not expected to make a deal involving Blake Griffin

Despite intermittent talks about it, the Boston Celtics are not expected to make a deal for Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin.

What It Means:

With Griffin set to become a free agent in the offseason, the Celtics aren't likely to put together a huge offer for him, and the Clippers rank fourth in the West and have little incentive to move Griffin for cheap. Jimmy Butler still appears to be the most likely big-name trade target for Boston.

Griffin is averaging 21.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.3 minutes per game this season. He ranks 34th in the NBA and third among Clippers players with a 4.3 nERD.
