J.R. Smith (thumb) still ways away from returning for Cleveland
Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward J.R. Smith (thumb) replied to a recent report suggesting he could return to action within the next three weeks, saying on Twitter, "Please don't believe the hype, [I] still a ways to go."
The original report suggested Smith might be well ahead of his initial 12-14 week timetable, but his tweet implies that he's still unlikely to be back anytime before the end of March. Smith isn't worth owning in standard formats.
Smith has not been having a strong season, and his -1.7 nERD is second-worst on the Cavaliers roster. He owns a career-low 14.6 percent usage rate in 21 games played.
