Sam Dekker

Rockets' Sam Dekker scores career-high 17 points

Houston Rockets forward Sam Dekker scored a career-high 17 points against the Denver Nuggets on Friday, adding four rebounds, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.

What It Means:

Dekker had to step up after Trevor Ariza left with an injury and he has slowly been gaining more trust as a solid rotation player at both forward spots for the Rockets. If Ariza is forced to miss time, Dekker could see even more minutes.

Dekker is now averaging 6.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists over 18.4 minutes per game this season. His .587 effective field goal percentage is quite impressive for the young Rocket, while his nERD of 0.5 ranks him 88th among all players.
