Marcin Gortat drops 21 points and 18 rebounds in Wizards' loss

Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat went off for 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting with 18 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals before fouling out in 42 minutes against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

What It Means:

With Ian Mahinmi still dealing with injury and Washington's short bench, Gortat has been forced to play big minutes for the Wizards this season. Friday was the second time he has posted 42 minutes this year and as long as he stays healthy he should be one of the top minute-grossing centers in the league.

Gortat is averaging 11.8 points and a career-best 12.1 rebounds per game this season. He owns a career-high .581 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 1.2 ranks him 49th among all players.
