Pau Gasol scores 19 points as Spurs edge Wizards
San Antonio Spurs center Pau Gasol returned from a day of rest in a 107-105 win versus the Washington Wizards on Friday and scored 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting with 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.
Gasol was starting to slump so it appears as if the rest day did it's job. With Gasol's advanced age, it will not be surprising to see the Spurs to give him several more nights off over the course of the season to keep him fresh for the playoffs.
Gasol is averaging 11.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists over 26.1 minutes per game. He owns a .508 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 0.6 ranks him 75th in the league.
