Knicks' Carmelo Anthony scores season-high 35 points

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony scored a season-high 35 points during a 113-110 overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, adding 14 rebounds, five assists, one block, two steals and three 3-pointers in 41 minutes.

What It Means:

Anthony has been hot lately and it has coincided with the Knicks starting to climb the Eastern Conference standings. They are playing a home-and-home series against Charlotte, so if they are able to win in Charlotte on Saturday with no rest, Anthony and the Knicks might need some more credit for their recent play.

Anthony is averaging 23.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals over 33.8 minutes per game. He owns a .525 effective field goal percentage this season, which is currently a career-high for Anthony.
