Jonathon Simmons shines in Spurs' season opener
San Antonio Spurs guard/forward Jonathon Simmons had 20 points, four rebounds and three assists coming off the bench in a 129-100 blowout of the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
Those 20 points were a career-high for Simmons, who saw 28 minutes as he combined with Kyle Anderson to fill in for the injured Danny Green.
Our models only project Simmons for 6.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per game over the remainder of the season, but if he continues to impress and carve out a bigger role for himself, we could easily see those numbers rise.
