Sixers' Jerryd Bayless hoping to avoid surgery

Philadelphia 76ers guard Jerryd Bayless (left wrist) is hoping to avoid surgery.

What It Means:

The team plans to reevaluate Bayless in two weeks, but if things aren't getting better, he might have to go under the knife. T.J. McConnell will slide in as the team's starting point guard while Bayless is out and the Sixers might be forced to look for a long term solution to their point guard issues.

Bayless averaged 10.4 points, 3.1 assists, 2.7 boards, 0.9 steals, 1.9 three-pointers, and a career-high .539 effective field goal percentage with the Milwaukee Bucks last season. His -1.5 nERD ranked 95th in the league.
