Pistons' Reggie Jackson (knee) could miss 6-8 weeks
Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Jackson (left knee) could be out for the next 6-8 weeks, according to head coach Stan Van Gundy.
"I feel comfortable with Ish [Smith] at starting point guard," Van Gundy stated, refuting an earlier report that suggested the Pistons would be buyers in the trade market for a point guard due to Jackson's expected absence. Fortunately, surgery won't be necessary, but it's a significant loss for Detroit's rotation. With expected minutes in the 30s on plenty of usage, Smith will have value in later rounds. Jackson's time on the shelf pushes him into the second half of drafts as well.
Jackson -- who ranked 49th with a 3.2 nERD -- enjoyed a breakout season in Detroit in 2015-2016. In his first full year running the show, he averaged 18.8 points, 3.2 boards, 6.2 assists and 1.5 3-pointers per game. His .535 true shooting percentage was the best clip of his career.
