Joel Embiid felt 'great' at first day of Sixers' camp

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (foot) said he felt "great" during the first day of training camp.

What It Means:

Embiid decided to practice on Tuesday after he was originally expected to skip due to a flu virus he was battling Monday night. "I'm feeling great," Embiid said. "I'm a little disappointed that I missed the beginning, that I didn't get a chance to play. But I went up and back a couple of times and it felt great." He got in some legitimate work and appears to be heading in the right direction by all accounts. In what is now Year 3 for the former third overall pick, Embiid's upside makes him well worth a late-round selection in fantasy draft.

It was previously reported that Embiid may not play in back-to-backs for Philadelphia, which would guarantee 17 missed games.
