Tyreke Evans

Tyreke Evans (knee) won't be ready for Pelicans' season opener

New Orleans Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans (right knee surgery) is not expected to be ready for the start of the season.

What It Means:

Evans received three operations on his right knee over a nine-month span, so this has been the expectation all along. He's still working to strengthen the surgically-repaired knee in rehab, and it's unknown when a potential return will take place. Jrue Holiday (personal) is also unavailable for New Orleans, so recently signed Lance Stephenson could be in for a large role to start the season.

Evans had a -0.5 nERD, which ranked 81st in the NBA last season. He only managed to play 25 games, but he averaged 15.2 points, 6.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game. He also had a 53.4 True Shooting Percentage, which was the second-best clip of his career.
