Dion Waiters on track to start for Miami

Miami Heat shooting guard Dion Waiters is the early favorite to start at shooting guard this season, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

What It Means:

Waiters just signed a one-year, $2.9 million contract with the Heat. He will have to hold off Josh Richardson, Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington to replace Dwyane Wade as the starting shooting guard in Miami.

Waiters only managed a -4.9 nERD last season, good for 127th in the NBA. He averaged 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while posting a .492 true shooting percentage and career-low 9.4 player efficiency rating.
