Thunder telling teams Russell Westbrook is not available
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been telling teams that point guard Russell Westbrook is not available for trade, per ESPN's Royce Young.
With Kevin Durant gone and Westbrook entering the final year of his contract, there has been a lot of speculation about the Thunder getting a trade done to avoid a repeat of this off-season, but, at least at the moment, they appear content to let Westbrook play out his contract.
Westbrook finished fifth in the NBA with a 14.7 nERD last year, and in 48 games without Durant in the past two seasons, he has averaged a stellar 30.5 points, 9.2 assists, 7.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals per contest. He also posted career-highs in true shooting percentage (.554), total rebound rate (12.4 percent) and assist rate (49.6 percent) last year.
