Blazers' Meyers Leonard hopes to be ready to start season

Portland Trailblazers center Meyers Leonard (shoulder surgery) said that he's hoping to be ready at the start of the 2016-17 season.

What It Means:

Leonard had surgery back in March to repair his shoulder and he was originally given a timetable of six to eight months. Being ready to start the season would put him on the shorter end of that timetable, but after re-signing him to a four-year deal this offseason, the Blazers won't be in the mood to rush him back. A return sometime in late November seems more likely.

Leonard owned a -1.1 nERD, which ranked 86th, in 61 games played this season. He put up 8.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while posting a 56.1 True Shooting Percentage in 2015-'16.
