Matthew Dellavedova could start for Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd said that newly acquired guard Matthew Dellavedova could start at point guard.

What It Means:

Michael Carter-Williams didn't play great as the starting point guard in Milwaukee, and by the end of the season Giannis Antetokounmpo was excelling as the starting point guard. Dellavedova would provide another floor spacer for the Bucks' starting five, and after signing for nearly $10 million per season, Delly will be a key part of the Bucks' offense regardless of if he is starting or not.

Dellavedova had a -0.4 nERD last season and as the playoffs got further along he received fewer minutes in Cleveland. However, he averaged 7.5 points, 4.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game in the regular season, which were all career highs. He shot 41 percent from the three point line, and added an effective field goal percentage of .501. Carter-Williams had an eFG% of only .466 in 2015-'16, but it was also a career-high.
