A 'slim chance' Pacers pursue Lance Stephenson

Free agent guard/forward Lance Stephenson has a "very slim chance" of being pursued by the Indiana Pacers, according to team President Larry Bird.

What It Means:

Stephenson has stated that he would return to Indiana if given the opportunity. We don't expect the Pacers to find room for him in their rotation, and Stephenson will have a difficult time replicating the production he had with the Memphis Grizzlies towards the end of last season, no matter where he ends up.

Stephenson put up averages of 14.2 points, 4.4 boards, 2.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.4 treys in his final 26 regular season contests with the Grizzlies this past season. For the year, his -1.4 nERD ranked 94th in the NBA. Stephenson led the league in triple-doubles back in 2013-14, but he will likely just be a role player during the 2016-2017 campaign.
