David West to join Warriors on one-year deal

The Golden State Warriors will sign power forward David West to a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum ($1.55 million).

What It Means:

This is another strong move for Golden State. West passed up about $12 million last season to try and win a title playing for the San Antonio Spurs, and will try again with a new team in the Warriors. He offers some much-needed depth behind bigs Draymond Green and Zaza Pachulia and will have more real-life value than fantasy value with all the mouths to feed in Golden State.

West posted a solid 5.3 nERD last season, which ranked 33rd, in 78 games played. He averaged 7.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 18.0 minutes per game, the fewest since his rookie season (2003-4). West's .573 true shooting percentage was a career high.
