Grizzlies give Chandler Parsons the max

Unrestricted free agent forward Chandler Parsons signed a four-year, $94 million max deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.

What It Means:

The Portland Trail Blazers also offered the max, with Parsons ultimately deciding to head to Memphis and join the Grizzlies. There are some injury concerns regarding Parson's knee (he only has 117 starts over the past two seasons), but with more shots coming his way in Memphis, he will be an early-round target in standard fantasy leagues heading into next season. With this move, ESPN reports that the team is in an "ultra-strong position" to re-sign Mike Conley.

In the second half of last season, only three of the 100 players with at least 30 minutes per game had a better true shooting percentage than Parsons (Stephen Curry, Hassan Whiteside and DeAndre Jordan). His 1.0 nERD ranked 70th in the NBA last year, and he posted a career-high .589 true shooting percentage with an 8.7 percent total rebound rate and 16.0 percent assist rate.
