Hawks reportedly mulling run at Dwight Howard

The Atlanta Hawks are considering making a run at Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard when free agency begins, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

What It Means:

Howard has declined his player option, meaning he will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and he has also reportedly drawn heavy interest from the New York Knicks.

Howard quietly had a strong year last season, ranking 46th in the league with a 3.6 nERD while his 20.2 percent Total Rebound Rate was his best since leaving Orlando and his .604 True Shooting Percentage was his best since 2010.
