Wizards' Bradley Beal will not play in Olympics
Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal will not participate for Team USA this summer.
Beal announced his decision via his Twitter account saying: "I could not be more grateful for the invitation to represent my country, as it is the ultimate honor, however it is with deep regret that I have declined the opportunity to participate with Team USA this summer in Rio. I have made the decision to dedicate this summer to getting in the best physical shape of my life and feel it is imperative that I stay true to my plan so I can be at my very best supporting my coaches and teammates for the upcoming season." Considering the multitude of injuries to Beal's leg, this decision is good news for the Wizards.
Beal only played 55 games this season and posted just a -1.9 nERD, which ranked 99th. He averaged 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, while posting a 54.7 True Shooting Percentage, which was a career best, as were his points per game.
