Nets ship Thaddeus Young to the Pacers for 20th pick
The Brooklyn Nets have traded Thaddeus Young to the Indiana Pacers for the 20th pick and a future second rounder.
Reports surfaced Monday morning that Brooklyn -- who didn't have a first-round pick -- really wanted to move into the first round. The Nets found a partner in Indiana, who gave up their first-rounder to acquire Young.
The move makes sense for both teams. Brooklyn needs an injection of youth while Indiana is in more of win-now mode. The Pacers have mixed things up this week, adding Young and Jeff Teague through trades. Young, 28, averaged 15.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals last season. Those numbers look nice, but his -1.7 nERD, which ranked 97th, is a lot less impressive.
