Miami seeking to trade Mario Chalmers
The Miami Heat are seeking to trade Mario Chalmers to reduce their luxury tax bill.
The Heat have recently traded away Shabazz Napier and Zoran Dragic, but they still would like to unload another point guard. Chalmers is currently slotted as the backup point guard behind Goran Dragic.
Chalmers posted a poor -4.2 nERD last season while averaging 10.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Chalmers will make a larger impact on the defensive end for whichever team he plays for this upcoming season. His 2.0 Defensive Win Shares ranked second on the Heat last season, but his 11.7 Player Efficiency Rating ranked eighth on the team.
