Nicolas Batum will play for French National Team this summer
Free agent forward Nicolas Batum, along with San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker and forward Boris Diaw will all suit up for the French National Team this offseason, although they will miss the early portions of France's training camp.
What It Means:
Team France's training camp begins June 10, but they will allow some of their main guys to return at a later date in order to rest up their bodies after a long NBA season. Diaw will reportedly join his teammates on June 13, and Parker will join the team on June 19, but Batum's return date has not yet been determined. Batum will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason searching for a max-deal, and the Hornets have said they will make re-signing Batum their No. 1 priority this summer
Batum ranked 85th in the league with a -0.5 nERD in 70 games played this season. He averaged 14.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.0 3-pointers on a 50.6 Effective Field Goal Percentage and career-high 21.4 Usage Rate.
