Lakers not expected to pursue DeMar DeRozan
Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan, an impending free agent, is not highly coveted by the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report.
The upcoming free agent has been connected to his hometown Lakers, but Ding poured a little cold water on that rumor. "There’s a lot of presumption about DeRozan, and I’m told the Lakers aren’t that high on him," Ding said. While DeRozan will likely get a max deal (or close to it), it doesn't appear it will be from the Lakers -- unless this is just a smoke screen.
DeRozan ranked 17th in the NBA with an 8.2 nERD, but he really struggled in the playoffs, sporting a 46.2 True Shooting Percentage and a 14.2 Player Efficiency Rating.
