Richard Jefferson plays entire fourth quarter for Cavaliers in Game 4

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Richard Jefferson played all 12 fourth-quarter minutes and 15 total minutes on Monday against the Toronto Raptors, finishing with eight points, one assist and no turnovers.

What It Means:

Jefferson has played sporadically throughout the playoffs for Cleveland, but with his team behind heading into the fourth quarter, Cavs' coach Ty Lue opted to go with Jefferson. Lue keeps using the phrase it's not "fair," to play Kevin Love in the fourth quarter, which may be code for Love is not playing well enough to play down the stretch.

Jefferson is averaging 5.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game this postseason. He has been incredibly efficient with his minimal shot attempts, which might be what has earned him minutes late in the game. His Effective Field Goal Percentage for the playoffs is 62.8 percent.
