Hassan Whiteside (knee) doubtful for Game 6 for Heat

Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside (knee) is doubtful to play in Game 6 on Friday against the Toronto Raptors.

What It Means:

Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said Whiteside has yet to progress to any on-court work, and he anticipates Whiteside continuing to do nothing but rest and rehab on Friday. Whiteside isn't even a week into his MCL injury, an injury which typically takes a minimum of two weeks to heal, so there's really no chance he plays again during Miami's second-round series. The Heat will use a committee approach to help fill the void left by Whiteside with Amar'e Stoudemire, Udonis Haslem and Josh McRoberts seeing an uptick in minutes.

Losing Whiteside is a major blow as he owned the ninth-best nERD during the regular season at 12.4. He's averaged 12.7 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game in the playoffs.
