Hassan Whiteside in a knee brace, walking boot as Heat prepare for Game 4

Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside (sprained right MCL) is in a knee brace and a walking boot.

What It Means:

The Heat can list Whiteside as day-to-day, but we all know that's not entirely accurate. It would be nothing short of shocking to see the big fella on the court in Monday's Game 4, and it's absolutely conceivable he'll miss (at least) the remainder of the second round. Without him, Miami will need everyone to step up, but Udonis Haslem, Josh McRoberts and possibly Amar'e Stoudemire will be the prime beneficiaries from a playing time perspective.

After averaging 13.1 points and 11.4 rebounds in the first round, Whiteside has taken a slight step downward after getting hurt in Game 3. He is averaging 9.3 points and 9.7 rebounds over his last three games. However, he has been pretty efficient for the playoffs, with a True Shooting Percentage of 67.9 percent. His 12.4 nERD ranked ninth in the league during the regular season.
