Stephen Curry will not play for Warriors in Game 3

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (knee) will not play in Game 3 versus the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday, head coach Steve Kerr said on the Dan Patrick Show.

What It Means:

Kerr added that Curry has a "slight chance" of playing in Game 4 on Monday, but keep in mind that the Warriors are probably just being cautious since they have a 2-0 series lead. Most reports seem to indicate that Curry is making excellent progress, but the next step for him is to participate in some 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 work. Shaun Livingston will start at point guard again on Saturday. We might get another update this afternoon.

Curry led the league by a big margin in the regular season with a 26.3 nERD. He averaged 30.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game with an outstanding 63.0 Effective Field Goal Percentage. The Warriors are up two-games-to-none on Portland and have a 41.5 percent chance at winning the NBA championship, according to our projections.
