Miami's Hassan Whiteside (knee) should be fine for Game 2

Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside said his strained right knee bothered him throughout Tuesday's Game 1 win, but he doesn't anticipate the injury forcing him to miss any time.

What It Means:

"The first five seconds, I was extremely worried, but as I stood up, the pain went away," Whiteside said. "It bothered me throughout the game, but I’m a tough dude so I had to go out there and play. I couldn’t let my guys down." Whiteside briefly exited Game 1 after an awkward fall, but he quickly returned to the court and ended up logging 39 minutes. He may sit out Wednesday's practice as a precaution, but he should be fine for Game 2 on Thursday.

Whiteside is averaging 12.6 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game in the playoffs with a 66.7 Effective Field Goal Percentage. He finished the regular season ranked ninth with a 12.4 nERD.
