DeMar DeRozan nets 30 points, misses 22 shots in Raptors' win
Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan scored a game-high 30 points to help Toronto advance to the second round, making 10-of-32 shots with five boards, two assists, three steals, two blocks and just one turnover in 40 minutes.
What It Means:
DeRozan ranked third in the NBA for free throw attempts this season -- at 8.4 per game -- but he averaged just 5.0 freebies in Games 1-6 against the Pacers. He got hot early tonight with 13 first-quarter points and wound up 9-of-9 at the line while his 32 field goal attempts set a franchise playoff-high for Toronto. His first-round inefficiency is water under the bridge now that he's helped his team advance in the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
DeRozan had a career season, averaging 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game with a 46.3 Effective Field Goal Percentage. His 8.2 nERD ranked 17th in the league.
